I reckon you should transition into this programme once you're happy with your overall size as you've probably already built up the habit, routine and discipline from Shortcut to Size which will definitely help keep up the momentum.Jim Stoppani’s Six-Week Shortcut To Shred Workout Review You'll have no rest periods between sets and perform a 1 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout. another thing, cardio acceleration is a fundamental component of Shortcut to Shred. What's a good program for me to do next? Any other advice for me? I feel like I had a good start, and want to keep the momentum.įirst off - congratulations on completing the Shortcut to Size programme. But I would like to do another round of mass building first. There is another program by Jim, "Shortcut to Shred", which it seems most people would start after "Shortcut to Size". I think a program with supersets might help to keep workout time manageable. Ideally I would like to keep it to 1 hour, maybe 1h30m. On many days I spent 2 hours and 30 minutes in the gym, and rarely did I spend less than 1 hour and 30 minutes per workout. The only problem with that program is that some workouts took me forever to complete. I was able to do every exercise (or find a reasonable substitute) in a small gym with some free weights, a Smith machine, and a cable machine. I like it that it is 4 workouts per week, and that there are no exercises that require exotic equipment. I did not find any program that would seem obviously good, so I started the same program from the beginning. I spent some time considering what to do next. I would like to bulk up beyond 220 lbs, maybe 230. It works better for me to wait between meals to start feeling a little bit hungry, and then eat with appetite.Īs far as results, I started at 182 lbs and finished around 207. It is a terrible thing - to eat when not hungry. As far as food, I cannot possibly eat as much as Jim recommends for this program. Nutrition wise, I followed Jim's advice on supplements (ordered bulk from Amazon and mixed my own). It took me longer, but I finished every workout, every set, and every rep. I pulled a back muscle in the end of January (lost about 10 days there), took extra days off while traveling, etc. ![]() It took me longer than advertised 12 weeks: I started on December 15 and finished on April 27, which is approximately 18 weeks. There are subtle variations in exercises that become noticeable over time, and they make total sense. ![]() ![]() The crew reproduces the genetic program, and the bacteria reproduce and synthesize the raw materials, which are used to 3-D print the strap. These genetic instructions and 3-D printing instructions are sent digitally from Earth to the space crew. (This work could also take place well before the need arises during the space mission.) The maker community works out the design of a strap from those materials. On Earth, synthetic biologists, whether of the DIY type or not, design and test genetic programs instructing bacteria to produce the polymer feedstock for 3-D printing. Here's one example of how this vision could be implemented: Say that astronauts faced a situation that occurred on the ISS in 2007 - a solar panel has torn and needs a repair strap. "The idea is what we call a 'bits-to-biology' converter," says David Walsh, a bioengineer at Lincoln Laboratory. The building blocks to edit these cells can be digitized and sent to the space crew in the form of a DNA sequence, which can be synthesized, assembled, and inserted into an organism on ship. Bioengineers can reprogram the inner logic of these organisms' cells to produce target compounds. Living organisms can convert sunlight, nitrogen, and water into finished products. Such a process would give scientists "the autonomy to design for the unknown," says Jessica Snyder, a USRA researcher who leads the synthetic biology task for the NASA Academic Mission Services. To meet this need, the authors envision using synthetic biology to produce custom biological "ink" to 3-D print whatever may be needed over the course of a mission. But if 3-D printing is to be a reliable tool for long-duration missions in space, a new problem crops up: the need to supply the ship with the feedstock for the printers. Experiments done on the ISS with 3-D printers have proven their utility for manufacturing on-demand items, like replacement hardware. We're just getting started."ģ-D printers are common staples of makerspaces. "But this also requires organizations like ours and NASA to connect more deeply with them in a two-way process, so there's a real pathway to getting people's work into space. There are parallels here with space and the needs of NASA crews," Carr says. ![]() "These separate, eclectic communities do bio in unconventional settings all the time and are pioneers at rapid prototyping and developing technologies with limited resources. Many DIY biologist groups operate makerspaces that provide equipment and supplies for members to do experiments on their own. The community operates outside the traditional academic or industry settings and spreads knowledge through open sourcing. The DIY biology community makes it possible for anyone in the public with an interest to conduct biological engineering. "Our opinion piece is a call to action to get DIY biology and makerspace communities involved," says Peter Carr, who works in Lincoln Laboratory's Bioengineering Systems and Technologies Group. But to make these ideas a reality, NASA is seeking help. In an opinion piece published online in Trends in Biotechnology, researchers from the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and NASA outline ways that synthetic biology and 3-D printing can support life during deep-space human missions. These materials can then be fed into 3-D printers to manufacture things the astronauts may need during spaceflight - everything from hardware and medical devices to medicine and food. ![]() Cells of fungi and bacteria, for example, can be reprogrammed with synthetic DNA to produce specific materials, like bioplastics. ![]() What these astronauts can pack are Earth's unique renewable resource: cells. It won't be feasible to pack everything they may need over the course of the mission, and resupply missions like those that keep the International Space Station (ISS) stocked will be prohibitively expensive and lengthy. As NASA gears up to send humans back to the moon or even to Mars, they'll need to figure out how to keep these humans healthy and safe, far away from the resource-abundant Earth. ![]() ![]() ![]() Laxus, from Fairy Tail, is a lightning mage whose attacks are all yellow or pale yellow.Enel's lightning produced from his Devil Fruit powers is blue in the anime. The lightning created by Nami's Clima Tact is yellow. ![]() ![]() Her lightning (as well as other spells) is yellow or golden in color. Justified since yellow is a standard warning sign color, associated with electricity and fire in general (and as we all know, lightning is electric). However, in certain types of works, lightning bolts and other types of electricity are chiefly yellow (which is quite an uncommon color for lightning, at least when not having an orange tinge), often a simple zigzag shape and seldom striking from the ground to sky or from the one to be shocked to the object. Heartz relates, "Constanze's sister Sophie had tearfully declared that her mother would send the police after Constanze if she did not return home. Mozart wrote to Leopold on 31 July 1782, "All the good and well-intentioned advice you have sent fails to address the case of a man who has already gone so far with a maiden. Daniel Heartz suggests that eventually Constanze moved in with Mozart, which would have placed her in disgrace by the mores of the time. The marriage finally took place in an atmosphere of crisis. Mozart also faced a very difficult task getting permission for the marriage from his father, Leopold. Surviving correspondence indicates that Mozart and Constanze briefly broke up in April 1782, over an episode involving jealousy (Constanze had permitted another young man to measure her calves in a parlor game). The courtship continued, not entirely smoothly. Mozart moved out on 5 September to a third-floor room in the Graben. Īfter a while, it became apparent to Cäcilia Weber that Mozart was courting Constanze, now 19, and in the interest of propriety, she requested that he leave. In May, he "was obliged to leave", and chose to board in the Weber household, originally intending "to stay there only a week". On first arriving in Vienna on 16 March 1781, Mozart stayed at the house of the Teutonic Order with the staff of his patron, Archbishop Colloredo. The house where the Webers lived (on the second floor) was at Am Peter 11, and bore a name (as houses often did at the time): Zum Auge Gottes ("God's Eye"). By the time Mozart moved to Vienna in 1781, Aloysia had married Joseph Lange, who agreed to help Cäcilia Weber with an annual stipend she also took in boarders to make ends meet. One month after their arrival, Fridolin died. The family moved to Vienna in 1779, again following Aloysia as she pursued her career. She rejected Mozart when he passed through Munich on his way back to Salzburg. While he was in Paris, Aloysia obtained a position as a singer in Munich, and the family accompanied her there. He fell in love-not with 15-year-old Constanze, but with Aloysia. The 21-year-old Mozart visited Mannheim in 1777 on a job-hunting tour with his mother and developed a close relationship with the Weber family. All four were trained as singers and Josepha and Aloysia both went on to distinguished musical careers, later on performing in the premieres of a number of Mozart's works.ĭuring most of Constanze's upbringing, the family lived in her mother's hometown of Mannheim, an important cultural, intellectual and musical center. Constanze had two older sisters, Josepha and Aloysia, and one younger one, Sophie. Fridolin's half-brother was the father of composer Carl Maria von Weber. Her father, Fridolin Weber, worked as a " double bass player, prompter, and music copyist".
